SMS Terms & Opt-In

Last updated: July 6, 2026

This page explains exactly how text messaging works with NoMissedJob, how consent is given, and how to opt out. NoMissedJob provides an automated missed-call text-back service on behalf of local home-service businesses (our “clients”) in Ventura County, California.

How you opt in (consent)

Consent is given by you calling the business — it is customer-initiated and verbal. There is no marketing list, keyword, or web form; you only ever receive a message because you called a business first.

You call a participating business. You dial the business’s own published phone number — the number shown on its website, its Google Business Profile, its vehicle/signage, and its advertising.
The call isn’t answered. The owner is on a job and can’t pick up, so the call goes unanswered.
The business texts you back. An automated SMS is sent from the business to the same number you just called from, continuing the conversation you started — to help capture and schedule the job.
You’re in control. You can reply STOP at any time to stop all messages, or HELP for assistance.

What the messages look like

Messages are one-to-one conversational replies, sent only to someone who just called the business. Example:

Hi, this is [Business Name] — sorry we missed your call! How can we help? Reply STOP to opt out.
Water heater’s leaking, can someone come today?
Absolutely — what’s the address, and does morning work?
Illustrative example. Messages come from the business you called, by its name.

Program details & disclosures

  • Message frequency: varies, and depends on your conversation with the business.
  • Cost: message and data rates may apply.
  • Opt out: reply STOP to any message to stop all further messages; you’ll receive one confirmation.
  • Help: reply HELP, or email jan@nomissedjob.com.
  • No purchased numbers: we never buy, rent, upload, or obtain phone numbers from third-party lists. A number is messaged only after it places an inbound call to the business.
We never sell or share mobile information. We do not sell, rent, or share mobile phone numbers, text-messaging opt-in, or consent information with any third parties or affiliates for their own marketing or promotional purposes.
